Our previous production, Lady ChardonnEy ran January 26 to February 11, 2007 as an approved Actors' Equity Showcase at Theatre Row The Studio Theatre. Written by Julio Tumbaco & Jim Gibson, the play is a one-act comedy of undeterred determination, perseverance and duplicity. It was masterfully directed by Jason Brantman. Lady ChardonnEy, exquisitely played by the talented Dee Spencer, is a proud black cabaret performer who lip syncs to the old blues standards. Her boyfriend, Sam Ranzoni, artfully played by Drake Andrew, is a man with a tarnished past; the mob. Lady ChardonnEy wants to get married at any cost. Sam wants to have sex at any cost. After the ceremony, Sam is anxious for her to fulfill her conjugal duties. But first, she has to clear the air about some incomplete promises. Rounding the stellar cast, Elka Rodriguez as Cheryl, played the ex-wife who tells-it-like-it-is with charm and vivacity.
